4 Steps To Prevent Acne

Acne is a problem that most teens and many adults struggle to manage. With so many causes of acne, it can seem difficult to treat and prevent. However, it is possible to eliminate acne with some time and a few steps.

1. Vitamins

Vitamins are a vital part of a healthy body, including healthy skin. While applying vitamin A and E topically might temporarily help acne, it also leaves the skin dry and does not result in permanent prevention. Eating foods that are rich in vitamins A, E, C and D is one of the best solutions. Vitamin A helps clear up the skin while vitamin E is necessary for vitamin A to work properly. Vitamin C is vital to fighting bacteria in the body, including on the skin. Vitamin D is a necessary element the body needs, but using the sun to get the vitamin is not always the best option, particularly for those who have sensitive and easily burned skin.

For the easiest way to incorporate more vitamins into a diet, consider juicing fresh fruits and vegetables. Fruits and vegetables like spinach, kale, blueberries, papaya, squash, peppers, carrots, collard greens and red pepper are all rich in vitamins and easy to make into a juice. One glass of juice requires several fruits and vegetables, making it a vitamin rich solution! For more tips.

2. Reduce Stress

Stress is one of the major causes of adult acne. While it is not the only cause, it plays a major role in the development of acne. Taking measures to reduce stress levels is a vital part of fighting acne. One option is getting more exercise. Exercise not only allows the pores to sweat out any dirt and oil clogging it, it also helps reduce stress. Other options include taking relaxing baths, reading for enjoyment, watching a comedy or meditating. Even relaxing with a cup of herbal tea for a few minutes can help. The key is finding something that is personally relaxing.

3. Seasonal Products

As the seasons change, the skin also changes. Adaptability is a vital element of preventing and fighting acne on the skin. The key is keeping up with the changes in your skin based on the season and accompanying weather. For example, someone who has oily skin during the summer months might end up with dry skin in the winter. By changing your skin care products to match the way the skin reacts to the seasonal changes, you can easily prevent the development of acne or fight any new acne that occurs as a result of waiting too long.

4. Acne Medication

Those who still struggle with acne despite careful planning might have hormonal acne that requires the use of appropriate acne products. Hormonal acne might require taking an oral contraceptive or getting other products to help balance the hormones or fight acne caused by changes to the hormones. The best products for any individual will differ based on the particular skin type and severity of acne. For many women, oral contraceptives might be enough to fight the acne. Others will also need a topical spot treatment or similar cream to help reduce the existing acne.
