Wardrobe Staples For Snowy Weather

Winter is fast approaching, bringing with it snow and chilly temperatures. While the main objective of a winter wardrobe is to stay warm, you can still look stylish while you're bundled up for the cold. Here are some must-have wardrobe staples for snowy weather:
Jeans

Mens Jeans, Womens jeans, and pretty much every other type of jeans you can name. Skinny, boot cut or straight leg, denim is your best friend during the snowy weather. They keep your legs insulated, provide comfort to your wardrobe and can be dressed up or down.
Sweaters

Comfortable and cozy, sweaters are the best snowy weather accessory to add to your winter wardrobe. They come in so many different styles and materials that it's impossible to get tired of donning sweaters during the chilly months. You can wear them over layers like tee shirts, long sleeved knit tops, button down shirts or turtlenecks or by themselves. They possess warming powers but remain stylish, so no need to worry about being fashionable with this wardrobe staple. Wool keeps you the toastiest but can be itchy for some, which is why you should throw on a long sleeved tee shirt underneath. If you really want to splurge, pick a cashmere sweater — they're lightweight, toasty and feel fabulous against your skin. Chunky cable knits look great paired with skinny jeans, sweater tunics are perfect with cozy leggings and boots and cardigans are fantastic with a layered look.
Boots

Snow boots are stylish and, more importantly, practical for snowy weather. Pick up a pair of Wellies, also known as rain boots, which are cute and ideal for trekking around in cold, wet and icy weather. You can also never go wrong with a warm pair of Uggs, but they are expensive and you may not want to wear them in the snow — although Uggs do carry a line of snow boots in addition to their traditional line. Stiletto boots are not the best choice for snowy weather, so opt for a pair of duck boots, which provide great traction in icy weather and remain a stylish snowy-day footwear choice. Make sure your boots are flat — a heel can be dangerous when trying to traverse snowy or icy conditions.
Coats

A warm winter coat is an absolute necessity for snowy weather. It doesn't have to be bulky to keep you snug and warm, just designed well and with the proper material. Wool coats are stylish, so pick a wool pea coat — they look fantastic with most outfits, whether casual or dressy. Puffy jackets are making a comeback, and when they're filled with down, you'll no doubt stay snug while looking stylish.
Accessories

- A pair of warm tights is a great accessory that can be worn with dresses, skirts or even under pants to provide a little extra warmth. They're affordable and come in a variety of colors and patterns.
- Scarves, gloves and hats are essential for the winter weather.
